Welcome to The New Home Decor site. We are currently a team of 3 people working on this website to bring you ideas, and practical resources to help you in your home decorating efforts. We will have timely event decorating motifs when appropriate like Christmas and other celebrations.

Meet the team

I am Catherine, the creator of this website. I love interior design but I like to bring a down to earth attitude to home decor. While designers can give us great ideas, many are out of touch when it come to make home decorating practical for the average family. On this site I will compile articles that cover all the bases. Home decor for the homemaker who has limited financial resources and for people who look for ideas on extravagant decor. I believe that you can take any design and adapt it to your need. I believe that first your home must reflect you and your family.

Jack Dobson is a home contractor in Virginia, where he lives with his wife Jackie. He the owner of a home building and remodeling business, specializing in all aspects of room additions. Jack and his employees also do large and small repairs. His passion is wood and he has a large collection of wooden pieces from around the world.

Martha is a 36 year old mother of 2 who decided to go back to school. She is currently a student in interior design, who believes that color is one of the most important element of design. Because color has the power to affect our moods, the ability to visually affect space, and because it is a universal language, color should be used with sensibility and thought.

Martha likes to share what she learns and contributes articles with new ideas in how we can improve our home environment. Martha is very keen on green energy and would like to see that we make improvements in the way we treat our resources.

In her spare time Martha enjoys various activities with her family, including camping, bicycling and water sports. As an outdoor lover she also thinks we should bring as much of nature in our homes and will share her ideas about using natural elements in our decoration.
