This would add privacy and also keep the sleeping individuals free from windy draughts and colder weather in times of essentially no insulation.
The modern version of these beds can either be made of metal or you can still buy a wooden four poster bed. Modern homes can get away with a steel or other metal bed frame or canopy style bed. The canopy is often a cloth or fabric material that can be drawn back mostly for looks in today’s age of modern insulation and indoor climate features.
